Donna A.
Falmouth, KY

Donna is a selfless and caring individual who has been through more than her share of challenges. Her roof was severely damaged by wind and 3” hail, but despite extensive damage and her neighbors receiving new roofs, she has been denied coverage twice by AllState. With a $5,000 deductible that she had to accept to keep her premiums affordable, Donna simply cannot cover the cost of the repairs herself.

Living on a tiny fixed income, Donna is the primary caregiver for her 89-year-old bedbound mother, her young granddaughter, and her daughter, who is unable to care for her child. Despite her own health struggles, Donna continues to put everyone else's needs before her own. The hail storm also extensively damaged her car, making it difficult for her to get around to shop and care for her dependents.

Donna’s situation is overwhelming, but she continues to care for her family with unwavering dedication. She is truly deserving of a new roof, which would relieve a significant burden and allow her to focus on the well-being of her loved ones. Donna’s selflessness and resilience in the face of adversity make her an ideal candidate for this much-needed assistance.

Mt. Liberty Church
Big Springs, WV

Mt. Liberty Church, a cherished historical landmark built in 1898, has been a vital part of the community for over a century. This church holds deep sentimental value for those who grew up attending services there, and it has been carefully maintained throughout the years by generations of congregants. However, the roof, now over 70 years old, is in dire need of replacement. Unfortunately, the church lacks the funds necessary to undertake this crucial project, and the aging congregation is no longer able to perform the repairs themselves.

The fear of losing this historic building due to a failing roof weighs heavily on the community. With limited financial resources and dwindling contributions, the church is struggling to preserve this important piece of history. A new roof would not only protect the structure but also ensure that Mt. Liberty Church continues to stand as a beacon of faith and heritage for many generations to come. Receiving this roof would be a true blessing, allowing the community to maintain this beloved church and keep its legacy alive.

Outdoor Adventure Rafting
Benton, TN

My name is Sarah Beth. I first joined the OAR team in 2016. Like many of our staff, a job that provided housing was particularly appealing to me. The owner at the time had already been trying to sell the company for several years when I joined, and as a result, he was very hesitant to put anything back into the place, always believing he was on the verge of finding the right buyer. Over time the damage took it's toll on the buildings and infrastructure. When we managed to buy the place in 2022 we were very excited to finally be able to do something about it. Our talented team has been able to mitigate a lot of the damage using our combined skills to fix things ourselves. We have made astounding progress in just two years and the improvements have been reflected in our business success but there is still so, so much to do. Any help with the costly and much-needed roof repairs would be a huge relief, allowing us to focus on repairing the water damage inside and restoring the facilities to their full potential. Your support would make a significant difference as we work to maintain and grow these businesses. This isn't just our job but our home. We would be so incredibly grateful for help making it something we could be proud of.

Sandra L.
Gaffney, SC

We are both retired and living on a very fixed income. Unfortunately, all of our savings were depleted when my husband, Oliver, had to undergo open-heart surgery. Now, we find ourselves in a difficult situation where we desperately need help. A new roof would make a tremendous difference in our lives, allowing us to maintain our home without the worry of unexpected expenses that we simply cannot afford. We are reaching out in the hope that we can receive the assistance we so urgently need.

Terry T.
Leesville, SC

This nomination is for my 74-year-old mother, Terry, a retired great-grandma from Leesville, SC, who has always been an active and vibrant part of her community. She purchased her beautiful historic home, built in 1940, in 1994 and has lovingly maintained it ever since. Terry enjoys spending time with family and friends, participating in her book club, and camping at the beach. She’s retired from BellSouth, worked for 10 years at Watsonia, and still works part-time at her favorite local clothing boutique.

Even at 74, Terry does her own yard work and keeps the window trim freshly painted. However, on a fixed income, larger expenses like a roof replacement have been financially out of reach. Her home is now in dire need of a new roof, and this assistance would mean the world to her.

Please help Terry get the new roof she and her beautiful home deserve, so she can continue to enjoy the place she has called home for nearly 30 years.
